Insights into the hidden gem Palais Erzherzog Carl Ludwig in Vienna where the Weber+Weber Sartoria showroom and studio are located

Currently, Austria is like many other countries in a more tightened lockdown mode which means curfew with exceptions such as for walks for recreation or to work and closed schools, stores, hotels or gastronomy. The lockdown is scheduled until 24th January. Even when it's not visible, designers, artists work further behind the necessarily closed doors.

Some have found exceptional workplaces such as Christian and Manuel Weber for their label's tailor shop, the 'sartoria', with a showroom located in the attic of a hidden gem in Wieden, the 4th district of Vienna. The 'Palais Erzherzog Carl Ludwig' from the 18th/19th century at Favoritenstrasse 7 can't be seen from the street.

Weber+Weber Sartoria (founded 2014) moved into the palace in 2020. Now the label provided some images from the location along with the latest news such as that the online shop at weberweber.it has a new design and the cooperation with well-known retailers like Braun Hamburg, Lodenfrey or Sagmeister was intensified last year. Weber+Weber stands for Austrian heritage, Italian craftsmanship and the development of long-lasting fashion made from traditional materials, especially wool. The material is used at the line 'Josef & Anna', which is inspired by Alpine clothing, as well as at the 'Travel Luxe' line. For the Travel Luxe items, the designers developed over three years a comfortable knit fabric from wool mixed with elastane. Another new interpretation of traditional fabrics is boiled wool equipped with a small amount of nylon which makes the clothing pieces once more longer lasting.
